Dr. David O’Regan

Following a first class honours BSc in Physiology at University College Cork (Ireland), and a Wellcome Trust PhD in neuroendocrinology at the University of Edinburgh, David read medicine at the University of Cambridge. He undertook 4 years of specialist training in sleep medicine at University College London Hospitals. He has been a Consultant in Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine at Guy’s Hospital since 2016. David holds an Honorary Senior Lectureship at King’s College London, and is a visiting lecturer at University College London. He is a past President of the Sleep Medicine Section at the Royal Society of Medicine. David maintains an active research interest, publishing widely in sleep medicine*. He developed the first group-based talking therapy for NREM Parasomnias. As a recognised authority in insomnia, David is a panel member on several international programmes, including Redefining Education on Sleep Therapy.
